Listening again to the excellent Turkish-German singer and musician Deriya Yildirim and her Grup Şimşek. Listened a ton to their cover of Nem Kaldi last year, because it’s just brilliant, but I also hope to get to hear her playing traditional Turkish songs by herself again, as she completely blew me away when opening for Jozef van Wissem at Arkaoda. I also saw the group at Silent Green last year, but the solo set was my personal favourite.
